Export or Backup Calendar

OS X Mountain Lion or later

  1. In Calendar, click the calendar’s name.

    If you don’t see your calendars, click Calendars.

  2. Choose File > Export > Export.
  3. Choose a location for the file, and then click Export.

    The events are exported in an iCalendar (.ics) file.

Outlook Desktop

  1. Open Outlook and go to your Calendar.
  2. Select the calendar you want to copy in the Calendar list.
  3. Deselect all other calendars.
  4. In Outlook, choose File > Save Calendar. In earlier versions of Outlook, choose File > Save As.
  5. Click More Options to adjust the date range and amount of detail to include in the calendar. This varies depending on your version of Outlook.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Choose where you want to save the calendar, then click Save.
  8. Repeat with each calendar you want to copy.

iCloud.com

  1. Go to https://www.icloud.com/#calendar
  2. Publicly share the calendar (see https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690?locale=en_US for instructions)
  3. Copy the URL of the shared calendar and paste it into the address field in your browser. Don't press Enter or Return.
  4. Change "webcal" to "http" and press Enter or Return. An ICS file will download to your default download location.
  5. Add the calendar to a calendar client, such as Calendar on Mac or Outlook on a Windows computer.
  6. Stop sharing the calendar (see https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2695?locale=en_US for instructions)

Google.com

All Calendars

  1. On your computer, open https://www.google.com/calendar (you can only export from a computer, not a phone or tablet)
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button
  3. Open the Calendars tab
  4. Click Export calendars between the "My Calendars" and "Other Calendars" sections.
    A ZIP file will be downloaded to your computer. If you open the .ZIP file, you'll see individual ICS files for each of your calendars.

 One Calendar

  1. On your computer, open https://www.google.com/calendar (you can only export from a computer, not a phone or tablet)
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button
  3. Open the Calendars tab
  4. Click the calendar you want to export
  5. Find the Private Address section, and click the ICAL button. If you don't see the "Private Address" section, you don't have access to export the file.
  6. A box will open with a link that you can use in two ways:
    Download: Click the link and an ICS file will start downloading. Your file will be stored on your computer wherever your downloads are usually saved.
    Copy & Paste: Some calendar applications let you import your calendar using an iCal link. Copy the link and paste it into app according to instructions.
