Sync with iCal or Outlook Desktop using a Mac
Over The Air (OTA) Synchronization
Apple has removed sync services in OS X Mavericks. Therefore, you cannot sync Outlook with Contacts or Calendar without installing third party software.
The problem is Outlook 2011, which does not support the open protocols CalDAV or CardDAV required to sync to iCloud, Google, Yahoo, .....
One solution is hosting your own CalDAV and CardDAV server using for example the free package Baïkal Server,
see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6311, but this requires some expertise.
Unfortunately there’s no easy way available yet.
iCal Desktop with USB-Cable or Wi-Fi Connection using iTunes
This method doesn't work anymore on OSX 10.9 Mavericks because Apple has removed the INFO tab and thus the possibility to sync via iTunes.
Please see https://weekcalendar.zendesk.com/entries/28862002 for alternatives
Outlook Desktop with USB-Cable or Wi-Fi Connection using iTunes
Sync with Outlook Desktop using Windows
Over The Air (OTA) Synchronization
For Microsoft Outlook for Windows users having an iCloud account Apple provides a solution which can be installed after setting up iCloud on your devices.
See http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ how to setup an iCloud account and
Download iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
OTA synchronization without an iCloud account is possible but requires a third party for storing your data. Since this synchronization method is quite a puzzle to setup we do not recommend this.
With USB-Cable or Wi-Fi Connection using iTunes
Make sure you have your Add-Ins in control in Outlook
Make sure you have the iTunes Outlook add-in active as well as the Outlook Change Notifier.
Disable everything you don't need.
- Connect your iOS device to iTunes
- Go into the Info details screen for your device
- Check Sync Calendars with Outlook and adjust Do not sync events older than to your preferences
To replace Calendar info on your iOS device
Scroll down in the Info details screen of your device to the Advanced section, mark Calendars and press Apply.
